SHIFT Update - Feb. 20, 2024

Greetings colleagues,

I am reaching out today to share some important news about one of FM’s key projects – SHIFT. SHIFT is the working project name for a new technology-driven approach to connect campus customers with facilities operations to get repair work completed quickly and efficiently. This new system, driven by AssetWorks software, will launch on May 31, 2024.

To ensure smooth transition from our current work management systems into the AssetWorks platform, facilities workgroups are currently engaged in closing as many open work tickets as possible. We are diligently navigating this process with careful consideration and prioritization, ensuring that emergency and urgent work tickets remain unaffected, while giving precedence to customer-driven tasks. Closing ticket efforts are focused on:

  • Completed (but not closed) tickets
  • Duplicate tickets
  • Self-generated tickets

So far, these efforts have already resulted in a reduction in open work orders from over 16,000 to around 6,000 in just a few short weeks.

As this work progresses, customers may see an increase in completed work tickets. If for any reason, you receive a closed ticket notice for work that has not yet been completed, please reach out to your facility manager.

As we get closer to our launch date, we will provide you with additional guidance on work ticket status. Thank you for your support as FM prepares for this important launch.

Warm regards,

Aynsley Toews
